Bowling Green Wins Grant Award for Internship Program
Bowling Green, VA – The Town of Bowling Green's Town Manager, India Adams-Jacobs, has announced that the Town has been awarded a grant from the Atlantic Union Bank (AUB) Community Impact Program to host a Future Impact Maker Student Intern this summer.
The $4,000 grant is part of AUB’s Future Community Impact Makers program and will be used to offset the intern's wages and expenses for the period from June 1 to August 1, 2025.
“We are thrilled to be a recipient of these funds,” said Adams-Jacobs. “This experience will enable us to offer a hands-on opportunity to a rising collegiate junior or senior in public service, community programs, and non-profit initiatives.”
As part of their experience, the Future Impact Maker Intern will participate in Atlantic Union Bank’s professional development program, which includes bi-weekly virtual learning sessions. Additionally, the intern will shadow Town employees and engage in the daily operations of local government.
To ensure a meaningful experience, the Intern will receive clear measures of success, intended learning outcomes, and a structured review of roles and expectations as part of their onboarding process.
Adams-Jacobs noted that an application will be open from April 1 to April 18 for students interested in this unique opportunity.
“We are grateful to Atlantic Union Bank for supporting our application,” Adams-Jacobs added. AUB has been a vital part of the Bowling Green and Caroline County community for many years, and its impact as a community partner remains immeasurable.
