Route 301 at Chase Street intersection improvement project in the Town of Bowling Green

Description

The proposed project will reconstruct the Route 301 and Route 619 (Chase Street) intersection in the Town of Bowling Green to a Continuous Green T pattern. Sidewalks are being proposed to improve pedestrian connectivity along with pedestrian crossing signal equipment within the project area. The project will also upgrade an existing parking lot on Chase Street.

To improve safety on the Route 301 corridor, the proposed project will close the crossover at Courthouse Lane.

This intersection improvement project was recommended as part of the Route 301 and Route 207 Arterial Preservation Planning Study to enhance safety for all road users in the area, including pedestrians.

The Town of Bowling Green applied for state funding through the SMART Scale process and was awarded in 2022.
