Town Receives Grant for GIS, Fixed Asset Management

The Town of Bowling Green recently received a grant from the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water (ODW) to support its ongoing GIS Utility Mapping and Asset Management initiatives.

The grant is for a sum not to exceed $30,000.

Town officials will now work to meet the requirements of the grant, which includes procurement of services of an engineer or other professional contractors as appropriate.

“We continue to be very fortunate to receive statewide funds for very important programs and projects within the Town,” commented Bowling Green Town Manager India Adams-Jacobs. “We were able to get our GIS up and running at no cost through a non-profit entity, and now the state is helping us take that a step further that includes management of all our assets.”
