BGVA Main Street & Town Economic Development Authority Host First Joint Business Appreciation Breakfast
Bowling Green, VA – Businesses in the Town of Bowling Green were in the spotlight on December 15 as a Business Appreciation Breakfast was held at historic Town Hall.
The Bowling Green VA Main Street (BGVA), a National Main Street affiliate, in partnership with the newly appointed Town Economic Development Authority and Town Administration, hosted the event. Business representatives joined elected and appointed officials from Bowling Green and Caroline County Office of Economic Development & Tourism to pay tribute to the businesses and thank them for their ongoing investment in the Town.
The Town awarded the 2025 Community Champions awards to Bill Webb, Jess Beale, and Emily Schantz. Bill Webb was awarded for his support during the Main Street sewer replacement project, assisting our contractor by accommodating the contractor's equipment and pumps on his property throughout the emergency construction and providing historical information about the town infrastructure in that area. Jessica Beale received the revitalization award for spearheading the revamp of the Main Street affiliate (BGVA Main Street) and serving as the organization's President for 2024-2025, helping to guide Main Street from exploration to mobilization to position the organization and town for future revitalization grant opportunities. Emily Schantz was awarded for her unique events at Danity Chic roadside stand and various markets, driving tourism and visitors to our downtown throughout the year.
Speakers included Bowling Green Mayor Tina Gambill, Bowling Green Councilmen Jeff Voit and Randy Hageman, and Town Manager India Adams-Jacobs. A letter was read on behalf of Vice Mayor Valerie Coyle, who was unable to attend.
The remarks highlighted activities throughout the year, including the marketing plans of the BGVA Main Street, Economic Development Authority, and general Town government highlights for 2025.
