Bowling Green, VA – Bowling Green Town Manager India Adams-Jacobs announced June 26 the Town will continue to follow drought restrictions currently being implemented by Caroline County Government and advised by state officials. A press release issued by DEQ officials this week stated its Drought Monitoring Task Face (DMTF) has continued the existing drought advisory guidelines for Virgina. This comes despite the state receiving 0.5 to 2 inches of rain during the last two weeks. “Severe drought continues in many parts of Virginia, particularly where precipitation was minimal,” the press release said. Furthermore, the release noted that ongoing dry soils, low stream flows and groundwater levels keep the need to continue drought restrictions. Governor Spanberger continues to encourage Virginians to conserve water during the drought. Caroline County Government issued a press release on June 5 implementing Level 3 Water Restrictions for customers in its public water system.

Those County restrictions that remain in effect are:
· Watering of Lawns & Gardens

1. No watering of lawns. Use of an automatic sprinkler system is prohibited

2. Hand-held watering or manual dripper system on gardens only on Wednesdays and/or Sundays, for odd street numbers and on Tuesdays and Saturdays for even street numbers.

· Vehicle Washing

2. Excessive water use for vehicle washing is prohibited

· Cleaning of Paved Areas

1. Prohibited except when necessary for health, sanitation or public safety purposes

· Pools and Spas
