- Which design did we choose?
- The final design is based on Design A from the survey, but includes highly requested elements of Design B as well! The colors have also been changed to match the official Town colors and limit burned legs on slides in the warmer months.
- Will the playground be fenced in?
- No, the grant does not include fencing.
- Why can't we keep the old swings?
- The design includes a swing set that allows for more inclusivity, and a safer jumping perimeter. The old set must be removed to make way for new structures.
- Will it be wheelchair accessible?
- Yes! The plan includes accessible entrances to both playground areas.
- Are both playgrounds being replaced?
- Yes! KABOOM received more funding from an anonymous donor to redo the smaller play area, or Tot Lot. We are thankful for the opportunity to expand our project.
- When is the playground being built?
- The playground build will take place over three days: October 28th (Prep Day 1), October 29th (Prep Day 2), October 30th (Build Day). The playground will be built by volunteers from the community and Amazon, our funding partner. We need all hands on deck! Breakfast, lunch, and water will be provided.
- Who can help with the build?
- Anyone, with a few age restrictions. Children under 16 years old will not be allowed to participate in building activities. 16- and17-year-olds are able to help outside of the playground footprint. 18+ can help with all parts of the project. There are also non-building volunteer opportunities. Please reach out if you would like to find out more about one of these positions.
- How many people are needed for the build?
- As many as possible! We need about 30 volunteers on each prep day and around 150 on build day.
